Cursive Writing Academy

We use the Handwriting Without Tears®approach to teach cursive in a fun, structure way. Research shows cursive supports fine motor skills, memory, and reading development, and can be especially helpful for students with dyslexia. Our program helps students build confidence while developing strong, lasting writing skills.

Research highlighted by PBS NewsHour, cursive writing can support the decoding process by engaging multiple cognitive systems at once, including hand-eye coordination, fine motor control, and memory-related neural pathways.

International Dyslexia Association-Why Cursive Helps?

  • Words are recognized more holistically rather than as isolated letters

  • Letter reversals to decrease

  • Strengthens the ability to retain correct spelling patterns

Studies completed by the University of Michigan, indicate that cursive writing can increase the confidence of students diagnosed with dyslexia.
